Already stressed about the upcoming Christmas parties and family gatherings? You are not alone. As an introvert, it is perfectly normal to be overwhelmed by this onslaught of crowded events. But there are some tips and tricks that you could use to handle these social situations without getting overwhelmed. Approaching these events with a plan will surely help to some degree. And who knows, you might even end up enjoying some of it.

  1. Take part in planning the event. This might not be a choice for everyone. But taking part in planning the event has its advantages. For starters, it will help you keep busy, which means you don’t have to engage in much small talk.
  2. Go to the events with an extrovert friend you are comfortable with. Doing this will ensure that you don’t have to feel the pressure of keeping the conversation going. Your extrovert friend will gladly take over the rein and keep the conversation alive. And from my experience, extroverts not only know how to enjoy being around people, but they can sometimes show us how to do the same.
  3. Try finding a spot in the venue you can go to relax. It could be a quiet place inside the building that’s not crowded. It could be a restroom, or a…
